Woven from sturdy Zimbabwe cotton, Futatabi 6.5 denim weighs 14 oz and carries the hallmark texture of 45R’s signature fabric. Its uneven surface, marked by pronounced slubs, creates a richly textured appearance. The stitching emphasizes points rather than lines and is constructed using six different threads of varying thickness and color. By carefully selecting the appropriate thread for each section, tension is balanced to form natural puckering and defined fades that deepen the denim’s character.
The indigo used is 45R’s original “Kageironando,” the 34th shade in their indigo series. This deep, shadowed tone—hovering between rich blue and refined grey—gradually reveals a vivid gradient of blue and grey through wear and washing, bringing quiet dimension to the fabric.
