We made this down vest by combining back satin — cotton satin used with its reverse side facing out — with old-fashioned nylon that has a matte, slightly crisp hand. We carefully selected down washed in soft water to protect the feathers, using only those that passed strict inspections before filling the vest in a well-balanced blend. Look closely at the duck embroidery on the lining and you may notice it forms a certain kanji character.
