The shape of these pants, named “Charlotte 5,” is inspired by the poised silhouette of French architect Charlotte Perriand. A hanger loop, crafted from precious selvedge denim, allows for convenient hanging and adds a subtle detail. At the back waist, a leather patch features a celestial maiden draped in feathered robes, while the signature R embroidery on the back pocket is stitched with plant-dyed thread inspired by Edo-zakura, a traditional Japanese shade.
The Rye Mugi Denim used here is slightly lighter and thinner, making it suitable for year-round wear. Unlike traditional hickory fabrics, this version is woven in a pronounced herringbone pattern, offering a new texture and visual depth.
We revisited the five traditional dye tones to create a fresh expression for denim. The shade “Tan” reveals a breezy and bright character, achieved through repeated washing until the color fades nearly to white—an entirely new face of 45R denim.
