Monpetit Denim 908 Baker Short Pants

Originally designed as military workwear, baker pants are known for their roomy fit and practical, oversized pockets. This version is a short pant that carries those same functional details. The waist tabs are sewn with a deliberately rough finish to preserve a vintage look. If you notice loose threads at the edges, simply tie them off before trimming—they won’t unravel.

The fabric is 8.1oz Monts denim—lighter than our 45 Petit Denim but a touch heavier than our shirt denim. It’s soft and light, perfect for early spring, yet it still delivers the nuanced shading and character of a heavier denim. A true standard in 45R’s collection, crafted with care and Japanese craftsmanship at its core.

We used an original 45R dye that fades gradually into a muted, lived-in tone with wear and repeated washing. The denim will reveal its unique character over time, as the contrast deepens and the color ages beautifully.
