The silhouette of “Charlotte 5” is inspired by the poised stance of French architect Charlotte Perriand—a design that blends strength with quiet elegance. The hanger loop, crafted from rare selvedge denim, allows for easy storage while adding a thoughtful detail. At the back waist, a leather patch is finished with a celestial maiden motif in flowing robes, while the signature R embroidery on the back pocket is stitched with plant-dyed thread inspired by Edo-zakura, a traditional Japanese shade that will fade gently alongside the denim.
Rye Mugi Denim offers a light, slightly thinner fabric that can be worn comfortably year-round. Though it has the rich texture of heavy-ounce denim, it feels surprisingly light—making it an easygoing alternative that does not compromise on character.
We revisited the tones of the traditional “goshiki” (five colors) to reimagine the face of denim. The “Syou” (焦) wash has a soft, muted finish—designed as the beginning of the fading journey. It invites you to enjoy the process of wearing, aging, and deepening the denim’s expression over time. A piece that embodies the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and the evolving style of 45R.
