The silhouette, Charlotte 5, is inspired by the poised and elegant stance of French architect Charlotte Perriand. A hanger loop, crafted from rare selvedge fabric, allows for practical storage while preserving subtle detail. The inner lining—or “sober”—features a depiction of a celestial maiden draped in flowing robes. The signature “R” embroidery is plant-dyed with Edo-zakura, a traditional Japanese technique that reflects our respect for nature and time-honored methods.

Rye denim is a fabric that can be worn throughout the year. It has the rich texture of heavyweight denim, yet it’s surprisingly light and airy—a healthy, breathable alternative that doesn’t compromise on depth or structure. This is denim as reimagined by 45R, through the lens of Japanese craftsmanship.

Revisiting the five-tone, we crafted a new identity for denim. The Zyu wash, created by further aging and processing the deep Syou tone, brings out natural fading, with soft whiskering and wear patterns that blend seamlessly into the fabric. This is denim that’s meant to be worn, washed, and grown into—day by day.
