The Artistry of Denim: Fabric Innovations

At 45R, we pride ourselves on our uniquely named denim materials, ranging from thick and robust to thin and lightweight, encompassing an array of original designs.
45R's signature and thickest denim, the 14-ounce 'Futatabi 6.5' fabric
First up is our thickest, the 14-ounce "Futatabi 6.5." This denim was born out of our early days of trial and error, woven from a heavy 6.5 count yarn that resulted in a distinctly textured, uneven fabric. The name "Futatabi 6.5" reflects a desire to revisit the origins of our denim crafting, symbolizing a renewal of those early efforts.
12.25-ounce Rye Mugi Denim, Icchora (raw) finish: Left after washing, right unwashed

Next, we offer the all-season-friendly 12.25-ounce "Rye Mugi Denim." Frequently treated to various finishes, the recommended one is the "Icchora" (raw) finish. This denim, treated with a silk-like mercerization process, has a lustrous quality that allows it to be worn as elegantly as trousers. With washing, the waist shrinks by approximately 2.5 to 3 cm and the inseam by about 1 cm, gradually taking on the classic faded denim look.

Lastly, the lightest in our collection at 6.6 ounces is "Mon-petit Denim." Originally inspired by the simplistic story of "Jomon (ancient Japan) petit denim," this fabric has evolved into a refined denim. Despite its thinness and lightness, it retains characteristic denim textures and shadows, making it versatile enough to be fashioned into elegant blouses and dresses.

For us at 45R, denim is the foundation of style. We provide a variety of colors and materials so you can wear our denim year-round. Discover your favorite among our carefully curated selections.
